Oh Happy Day & Happy Mail!

It’s almost Friday and we have lots of fun planned this weekend.  Saturday we get to help some of the local kids pick out donated gifts for their parents as Scouts for 1st Bow Valley.  I can’t wait to see what all the kids choose for their parents.

I received some Happy Mail this afternoon…. my newest order from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps! I just adore Kim and she leaves the sweetest little notes in all her customer packages.  Thanks Kim!

I decide to get my butt in gear and enter in the November challenge over on the KKS Facebook page before the end of the month… just hours away.  I used the “Reindeer Games” stamp set and some amazing new Catherine Pooler Designs inks from her new Spa Collection to create my night sky.
I just adore those little reindeer fellas!!!

And I couldn't resist using the other stamp set in my Happy Mail... the "Furry Holiday Wishes" stamp set.   I just adore the festive little fox in this set...
Isn't he adorable?!?!?  LOL!

I’m off to curl up and watch my latest PVRed Christmas movie with a cup of something warm and yummy.

Night all!

Inspire Me Monday: Turnaround Technique

Hey everyone!  Happy Monday!

Today I’m over on the Power Poppy blog for my newest episode of Inspire Me Monday.  This month I’m doing a tutorial take on the turnabout stamps that have entered the stamping industry this year.

I have brand new video tutorial on how I created 2 of the 4 panels for the NINE Christmas cards I created.  Yup… I made 9 cards!  To check out all nine cards and the video on how I created their back grounds, you can click right HERE!

To add to my examples, I thought I’d share another card example here on my blog but this time use a birthday theme for my turnaround technique.

I first selected a variety of fun birthday themed stamps and sentiments and also some other mini stamps to create my patterned back ground.
Power Poppy Stamps Used: Party Time (Cake Slice, Sentiments), Tree of Life (Dove), Tea in the Garden (Strawberry, Lemon Tea Cup, Small Flowers), Sassy Succulents (mini succulent), Potted Primroses (potted primrose, single primrose), Short Stacks (Happy Birthday to You sentiment)

And onto the two cards I created using this fun panel…

My first card, I cut a complete rectangular panel from the back ground.   I created a tone on tone soft teal coloured back ground piece by stamping the “Happy Birthday” greeting in a similar ink on the cardstock.  Then I created a simple tag sentiment for the front.

And look at all the added sparkle…
Copics: V000, V01, R11, R12, R14, YR30, YG00, YG03, Y11, Y02, BG000, B000, G00

And for my final card, I only have a limited long strip of the back ground paper so I decided to add it to the front of my card on a slight angle and then add the long sentiment hanging over top.  Easy, peasy!

Thanks for joining me today!  I hope my video tutorial over on the Power Poppy Blog inspires you to create a festive back ground or two this holiday season!

Thanks for stopping in!

Power Poppy: Creating a Tablescape

Happy Friday everyone!  It’s time for another fun Power Poppy creation.  Today’s card was inspired by a challenge over at StampNation. Every few weeks for the past few months a new Christmas card challenge has been posted.  Themes from sweet treats to religious, to wreaths and knit patterns were posted to inspire.

My card today was inspired by the challenge to use the Tablescapes mood board.

So I grabbed the brand new clear stamp set, “Under Glass: Christmas Traditions” and stamped out the Santa and reindeer under glass and then used the “Bottlebrush Holiday” stamp set to round out the back ground of my faux tablescape.  I think it turned out rather cute myself!  LOL!
Copics: G000, G00, G21, G24, YG17, G28, G85, E11, E13, E15, E18, R83, R85, BG72, R32, R35, W1, C4, T2, T6, T9

I was sure to add lots of glittery sparkle to this card too!

Now's the time to go and check out what my fellow Bloomies have been up to....

Power Poppy: Forest Finds

Howdy all!  Happy Sunday!  Today I’m joining in on one of Power Poppy’s digital reveals so I’m joining some of the Instant Gardeners today.

Introducing… Forest Finds!

This little digital cluster is a special ornament grouping!  A vintage pinecone, tiny pumpkin, and pomegranate ornament are arranged among poinsettia leaves and a berry-bedecked twig. Color this illustration for a simple, sweet, and quite unique way to wish your friends and family a warm and wonderful holiday season.  This digi set also includes 2 holiday greetings.

I had a hard time creating this card.  The colouring was easy but getting to the final card was a struggle for some odd reason.  It actually has quite a few flicks of purple throughout (and in the plaid paper), hence the dark purple card base colour.  So here she is...

 Copics: YG0000, YG01, Y11, YR00, YR12, YR16, R14, R37, R39, V01, V04, V05, V91 + Prismacolor Pencils

I used the “Holly Golightly” stamp set to add a simple sentiment to the bottom of my card.

And fancy Christmas tree ornaments just wouldn’t be the same with out some faux snow and glitter!

So join me and the other designers that have created to share with you today…

Power Poppy: A Little Portion Control

Howdy!!  TGIF everyone! I hope you all have creative plans for this weekend.  I’m off on a snowshoeing hike with my Scouts on Sunday to hunt for a future Christmas tree.  Yes… I said snowshoeing. We got our first good blast of winter yesterday and it’s supposed to continue all day today too!

So being in winter mood, I thought I’d make another card for my holiday card stash.  I never seem to have quite enough made by the time I need to address and send them out.  So here we go…

I used the detailed and delicate “Glistening Paperwhites” stamp set by Power Poppy for both the image and sentiment.  I decided to add a few touches of gold to match the printed “Falala” paper.
 Copics: BG90, BG11, BG32, BG18, R81, R83, R85, R24, YG61, YG63, TG03, YG01

My card today also follows this month’s Power & Spark Challenge for November.  This month it’s all about using partial stamp images.  It’s a simple as that!  I can’t wait to see what you create!  For challenge details and rules, please click here. By participating, you could win a $50 shopping spree in the Power Poppy Shop!

Take a few moments and check out what my fellow talented Bloom Brigaders have created for you today…
