For the Love of Diamonds and Blooms!

Hey there everyone!  It’s Monday and I have a few more cards to share with you featuring the “The Perfect ReasonStamp of Approval Collection!

This seasonally released box of specially curated stamping goodies contains 4 stamp sets, 3 dies and a gorgeous stencil!  And we still have a few boxes left for purchase!

Today I’m going to share some fun cards using the Catherine Pooler Designs inks.  These inks are to “dye for”… lol!  They are vivid, extremely saturated beauties!

In one of stamp sets, we have this cool strip of diamonds and then a few separate single diamonds and so I thought I would play with a fun rainbow effect with them.

Next I pulled out the cool bowl-shaped blooms and had some fun using some Midnight, Tiki Torch and Tutti Frutti inks…

And finally, Catherine had an on-line chat with the members of StampNation a few days ago where she invited members of the Dream Team to come and CASE one of our fellow designer’s SOA cards. I chose a fun card by Catherine herself and CASEd it using the diamond stamps plus some of the fun “Paisley Peacock” paisleys too!

If you are new to stamping or have a friend that loves to stamp & create, then this box is for you!

Happy creating!

"The Perfect Reason" Stamp of Approval - Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of "The Perfect Reason" Stamp of Approval Collection Blog Hop!

If you are new to Stamp of Approval... here's what's its all about!

Stamp of Approval is a box filled with a special collection of stamps, dies and in this case, a stencil just for you!  All of the items in the box can be mixed and matched together and are designed to do so. Accompanied by your favorite ink, this box makes a great gift too!  I would suggest Catherine's own ink line, found here.

This lovely box of creative goodies comes straight to your mailbox but you have to order it quickly as it tends to sell out within the first 12 - 18 hours!

To get on the Wait List to receive your "ready for purchase" email, click here!  If you are a member of StampNation, you will receive your shop email an hour ahead of time.  Just one of the perks of being a member! :)

Now let's get to sharing some fun creations made using the contents of "The Perfect Reason" Collection.

For my background, I used a soft nylon bristled brush to achieve the soft blended back ground of inks through our fun stencil included in this release's collection.
This card features the beautiful inks from Catherine Pooler Designs in the colors of: Fiesta Blue, Aquatini, Grass Skirt, Lime Rickey and finally, Tiara.

For my second card, I wanted to create a fun, bold back ground so I stamped all of my elements in Midnight ink and then masked them off using masks cut using the stamp sets' coordinating dies.
Once masked, I used Tiki Torch, Tutti Frutti, Flirty Fuchsia and Party Dress to ink over top of the whole panel.  With a final few flicks of Midnight ink to add some splatter & a few drops of water, I removed the masks and VOILA!

Would you like to WIN a box of your very own???  Comment on each designers blog hop post to WIN. There are THREE days a chance of winning. One winner will be chosen at random from each day's blog hop comments and announced on February 9 on Catherine's blog. The winners will win their box and if you have already bought it, you will be refunded!

Now hop on over to the next designer's blog for more Stamp of Approval goodness...

Thanks for dropping by!  Happy hopping today!

Power Poppy: Hello Rosy!

Howdy all!  Happy Friday!  Since it’s a new month, over at Power Poppy we’ll begin a new monthly challenge.

This month’s Power & Spark Challenge is all about the no-line colouring technique!  It really isn’t as hard as it looks.  For all the details, please click here.

Let me show you how I began my colouring…

A: Stamped my single rose bud from the “Everything’s Even Rosier” stamp set using Bundled Sage Distress Ink onto Arches 140lb Cold Pressed water colour paper.  You’ll want to use a light coloured ink for this technique.  I could have used a lighter ink myself… oh well!
B: Added my grey tones to all the shadow areas using my ZIG “Gray Tint”.
C: Added my base colour to my petals. ZIG “English Lavender”.
D: Added my darkest purple to all the shadow areas. ZIG “Violet”.

E: Added my next lightest-toned purple and blended out the dark purple. ZIG “Lilac”.
F: Added my mid-tone purple and blended in out. SIG “Light Violet & Lilac”.
G: Added my base coat of green to my leaves. ZIG “Green Shadow”.
H: Added some subtle yellow and orange tones to the leaves. ZIG “Yellow & Flesh Colour”.

I: Added the darker green to the shadows and veins of the leaves. ZIG “Light Green”.  As so added some more “"ZIG “English Lavender” to the shadows to darken them.
J:  Added some subtle pink colour to the rose petals. ZIG “Sugared Almond Pink”.

After trimming it out and adding it to my card… VOILA!

For my card design this week, I used the sketch from Mojo Monday blog, sketch #482:

Now, come and check out what the rest of the amazingly talented Bloom Brigade created using their Power Poppy stamps…

Thanks for stopping in!  I’d love to know if you’ve tried this fun colouring technique yourself?
