Power Poppy: A Pocket Full of Posies

Happy Friday everyone!  The Bloom Brigade is here again to share some more inspiration with you today.  We’re hoping it sparks you to create this weekend and play along with us.

Today I’m highlighting a few stamp sets from our lasted clear stamp release.  These stamps come from the “Storm of Creativity Collection”, “Big Scripts” and “Potted Primroses”.  And I also threw in some sentiments from the “Dynamic Duos: Glads & Gerberas” stamp collection as well!

My card is very simple this week.  A few layers and some fussy cutting and a pocket full of thanks…

http://casethissketch.blogspot.ca/2015/02/case-this-sketch-112.htmlMy card design is based on the latest sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch!, #112:

The little white closure on the right hand side contains a magnet that holds the card closed.  The front of my card reminded me of a little pocket, hence the title of my post today!

And here is the inside of the card…
Three little happy potted Primroses sitting on a wooden shelf Smile

Don’t forget to play along with our challenge this month… the new “Power & Spark” challenge.  TOMORROW is the LAST DAY to enter for this month! Our hostess, Julie, wants you take inspiration from the sky!

Now… off you go on a little adventure through all of the Bloom Brigade blogs...

Lovely Lilacs

Howdy all!  It’s been a busy week here in this household.  Last weekend it was “crazy clean the house weekend” because my Mom was coming to visit on Tuesday morning from Ontario.  We always make a point of her coming out to Alberta to visit us and I always go home to Ontario at least once a year to see her.

I didn’t have time to actually sit down and create a card for today until yesterday.  And since my Mom’s here still, I invited her to create along with me today as she’s just starting to learn how to use her Copic Markers.

Both our cards today feature the stunning Power PoppyFrench Liliac” digital image.

So here is the card MY MOM, Mary, created…
My Mom used some Spring greens on her Lilacs and airbrushed her back ground.

And then here’s the card I created…

I used the “French Liliac” stamp set but also the “Potted Primroses” stamp set for my sentiment.

Here’s a little close up…

Don't forget to check out our NEW monthly challenge feature... Power & Spark...
Julie's our hostess for the month and she wants to see your SKY related inspirations!

Power & Spark ~ The Sky’s the Limit!

Howdy everyone!  Welcome to another fabulous, fun and creative Friday for the Bloom Brigade over at Power Poppy!  Today we have something new for all your creative people out there.  Power Poppy is beginning something new… it’s called “Power & Spark”!

Each month we’ll introduce a new designer-led challenge and you have all month long to create something fabulous to share with us AND you get a chance to WIN a Power Poppy stamp set of your choice!  Power Poppy images are not necessary to participate.  Woohoo!!

For our official challenge rules, click here!

Our first challenge is led by the super-uber talented Julie Koerber this month and it’s entitled…
THE SKY’S THE LIMIT!
Julie’s challenge is all about being inspired by all the amazing colours that the sky has to offer.  Be inspired by Julie’s photo on the Power Poppy Blog or take a photo of your own and use it for inspiration!  As the challenge implies… the sky’s the limit!  LOL!

I am super blessed to live on a little lake in Southern Alberta and we have the most amazing sunrises so I thought I share a few of my favourites with you first before getting to my card today.

My inspiration...

I was inspired by one of my latest photos from last week, the sunrise at the bottom... isn't it cool?  It has a gorgeous array of yellows, oranges, pinky-reds and gorgeous blues and that’s where the colours of my card below have evolved from.

I used the darling little budgy and tea cup image and sentiment from the new “Short Stacks” stamp collection from our newest release.

I embossed my image in detailed black embossing powder, heat set it and then used some watercolours to add colour to my image.
I added some tiny splatters to my back ground using a toothbrush using some black watercolour pigments and some white pen details to my birdy and tea cups.

Now… off you go on a little adventure through all of the Bloom Brigade blogs…
