Introducing… Heaven & Nature Sing!

It’s the final day of sneak peeks for the newest Power Poppy stamp release!  Yup… tomorrow you will be able to purchase all four new stamp sets… but first, I want to introduce you to our final and most beautiful stamp set of our release... “Heaven & Nature Sing”!

If you joined me yesterday, on my blog post here, I was talking a little bit about making a card that wasn’t quite what you pictured in your head… Well… let me tell you!  TODAY is a new day and this card was EXACTLY how I had pictured it in my head!  I spent probably 2 and half hours just colouring up this baby…

Can you say “Copic Obsessed”? LOL!  Just a lil’ bit!

My favourite colour is purple so I had to try and use purple on a holiday card. Sometimes purple is quite hard to use but I knew somehow I could pull it off!   Just have to say… this is my favourite card of all my release creations so far! Awwww... aren't those little birdies the sweetest thing you've ever seen?

Now that you’ve checked out my purple-ious holiday card, you need to check out what my fellow Bloom Brigaders have created using the “Heaven & Nature Sing” stamp set too…

Introducing… Merry Littles!

We are continuing today with Day 3 of our Happiest Holiday Collection!  This will be our third new holiday inspired stamp set and it’s called… “Merry Littles”.  A fitting title because this collection of stamps is packed with 18… yes, 18 wonderful little holiday images and sentiments!

For my card today, I was kinda going for a vintage look but don’t think I achieved it all that well.  I played around with these papers for hours and couldn’t quite find the feel and look I wanted.

Do you ever have one of those kind of cards?  One where you can find that last little item to make it complete?  Yup… I just couldn’t decide so I left it.  Oh well… c’est le vie!

Now, come along and check out what the gals have created for you to peek at today…

Introducing… O Holy Night!

Silent night… Holy Night!  All is calm!  All is bright!

The newest stamp set from Power Poppy, “O Holy Night” is sure to be a must-have stamp on your shopping list this month!

Marcella has drawn the most serene wintry night scene with this sweet little church and I don’t know about you, but I can almost hear the beautiful sound of a Christmas choir when I peer at this stamp…

Today I chose to work with some water colour paints.  I’m really new to working with this medium (maybe 5 times!) but I think it came out a lot better than I expected!
I added some soft snowflakes to only the outer parts of the sky.  I really like the effect of the circular cut out of the church and moon.  It really brings it all into focus quickly.

Why not check out what my fellow Bloom Brigaders have created with this beautiful snowy scene…

Introducing… Bough Wow Wow!

Well hello fellow stampers!  It’s that time again!   Time to start sneaking a peek at the latest and greatest stamp sets from Power Poppy

The next 4 days are going to PACKED full of amazing cards and creations!  Marcy and the Bloom Brigade has out done themselves AGAIN this month.  We have four new stamp sets to share and you WON’T be be disappointed!!!  We have a little of something for every kind of stamper.

Let’s begin our journey with this first holiday beauty… it’s called “Bough Wow Wow”!  Marcella certainly got the name for this new stamp set right!  It’s WOW-tastic!  This little holly-iday honey has 2 large beautiful holiday themed boughs, 4 mini seasonal elements and two darling sentiments for you to create with.

I couldn’t resist using the sweet little bough with the mittens, hearts and the pom-poms!  Yup… I said pom-poms!  Isn’t that the cutest little holiday decoration you ever did see?

I coloured up my bough wow-wow image using some traditional holiday coloured Copics: E30, E31, R05, R14, E07, YG0000, YG21, YG23, YG25, YG17.

And I couldn’t resist putting a little pizzazz on my pom-poms… Smile

Welcome to another edition of Peep of the Week at Power Poppy!  If you are new to my blog or to our Friday challenges, click here for further details as to how you can play along with us.

This week I chose to work with the darling greeting stamp set of “Joyful Arrangements”.  I just love all the whimsical fonts that Marcella has used to create all four holiday card sentiments.

I wanted to ensure that the stars in my greeting were yellow so I added some yellow to my patterned paper!  I also added some bright teal too!  Who says you can add more colour to your patterns so they match your greeting? LOL!

It's a simple but fun holiday card this week everyone!  I hope it inspires you!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Wednesday everyone!  I’ve been super busy prepping for an up and coming new class over at StampNation for the past week and I finally got a breather and came up for air.  You guys are going to LOVE this class!  More details to come very soon!

Today is my day to share the latest card sketch over at Splitcoaststampers.  We’re already at sketch #510!  And here it is…

Since Thanksgiving was last weekend here in Canada, I decided to make a card for such occasion.  This card was actually made for my son’s teacher.  It features the digital image called “Prudence” by Mo Manning at Digital Pencil.  I just love Mo’s artwork and knew that Prudence would be perfect for a simple Thanksgiving card.

For my card, I used the “paper tole” technique.  It’s where you fussy cut layers of your image and use a 3D glue to raise all the layers that have been “sculpted” using a ball stylus.  You can see a quick video tutorial on this technique here at Splitcoast.  Here is a end view of my card layers (sorry, this is hard to take photos of!)

I hope you have a fabulous day!  Happy card making!

For myself, I couldn’t resist trying out Julie Koerber’s fabulous tutorial on monochromatic colouring, seen here.  In her tutorial Julie shows how just some simple ink and a few Copic Markers can make for a stunning monochromatic card.

For my card, I chose to work with a deep blue-green and teal.  I used Stampin’ Up!’s “Handsome Hunter” ink and Copic Markers, BG10 & BG11. And here is the card I came up with…

And here’s the close up of my focal image using Julie’s tutorial…

Happiest Holiday Hop with Power Poppy

Power Poppy Holiday Stamps

Hello everyone and welcome to the Happiest Holiday Release Day Blog Hop with Power Poppy!

Today, the Bloom Brigade is here to show off all four of new stamp sets;

Aren’t all those stamp sets amazing!?!  There is so much beautiful detail built into each image of Marcella’s!

Now I LOVE Copics but I thought today I’d share a little card using some paper piecing technique.  There is something that I just love about fussy cutting… I actually find it relaxing!

So for today’s card I pulled out the sweet stocking from the “Poinsettia” stamp set, inked it with some Memento “Tuxedo Black” ink and had some fun with scissors…
Power Poppy Poinsettia Bottlebrush Holidays

I used a variety of fun holiday patterned papers form the Lawn Fawn “Peace Joy Love” 6x6 paper collection.  The smaller scale patterns from this collection just lent themselves to paper piecing.  I used the simple greeting from the “Bottlebrush Holiday” and a white gel pen to complete my card front.

Now… off you go on a little holiday hop through all of the Bloom Brigade blogs..
